Paddy Doyles Boots
A short haul shanty well-known as one of the very few "bunting" shanties and never used for anything but "tossing the bunt" (the process of pulling up the sail to roll it up and stow it on the yard). It has been speculated that Paddy Doyle was the name of a so-and-so boarding house master who ripped off sailors with chintzy gear!
Paddy Doyle's Boots:
To me way, ay ay, ay, ay...Ah
We'll pay Paddy Doyle for his boots
We'll all drink whiskey and gin
We'll all shave under our chin
We'll all throw mud at the cook
